Seeking God

I have been in many denominations seeking God and the proper church. I was raised in a denomination and attended regularly. At the age of sixteen I felt that there was more in life, and God wanted more of me. I started seeking God for myself. I attended several denominations. I finally thought I had found the right place to worship God and study the Bible. I was content and stayed there for many years. I raised my two children there. After many years of studying the Bible I felt God still wanted more of me and my family than what we were living. Eventually I became very sad and had no peace where I was meeting, I would even feel so bad and dead after attending.

One Sunday I cried out to God and begged God to give me a place to go and worship. One day I heard of a place in another city, and while I was visiting there I attended a meeting. I had never seen people so happy in the enjoyment of the Lord. They were all praising the Lord. I was drawn by their praising of the Lord and by their teachings. I had never heard such a complete Gospel. We started driving on Sunday mornings to another city 190 miles each way to attend these meetings, as there was not a local church in San Antonio at that time. I bought a book, The Release of the Spirit. The book revealed much concerning God's desire. I wanted more of God in my life. I thanked God that I started to realize what God's purpose is. God desires that all men be saved and that all men come to the full knowledge of the truth (1 Timothy 2:4).

I thank God that he led me to the local church in San Antonio. The Lord has revealed so much of His purpose to me and to many others through the ministry of Witness Lee. To be with the brothers and sisters in the local church has fulfilled all my spiritual desires. I have been able to go on spiritually by taking the Lord as my person (Galatians 2:20) and allowing the Lord to continue growing and operating within me. Praise the Lord; the Lord Jesus is now living in my spirit (2 Timothy 4:22). Hallelujah! I have a human spirit. I can now call on the name of the Lord knowing He is always available to me, and to all that call on His name (Romans 10:12-13). I now look forward to coming to the meetings to hear the testimonies of the believers concerning their enjoyment and experiences of the Lord. I leave the meetings now filled in spirit (Ephesians 5:18) and am happy knowing the Lord Jesus is living in me.
